William Wallace

William Wallace, a Scottish national hero, famous for his resistance to English rule, became the protector of Scotland in 1297 when he defeated the English army at the Battle of Stirling Bridge with wisdom and courage. Legend has it that he fought with fewer men than he did with more, using skillful tactics to defeat a powerful enemy. Despite his defeat at the Battle of Falkirk, Wallace never succumbed, and when he was arrested in 1305, he died bravely, but his indomitable spirit inspired future generations and became a symbol of Scotland's freedom and independence.
